Valencia

Here's an old post that we never actually published. It is from the second half of our trip to Spain last summer.

After several wonderful days in Barcelona, we continued our adventures in Spain by hopping a train to Valencia. This was our first long distance train ride and we absolutely loved it. We found it so comfortable and the time flew by.

In Valencia we continued our tradition of staying in rental apartments. Caleb's room was a loft up a the little blue ladder. He thought it was the greatest thing ever, but truthfully, it made us a bit nervous. Apartment itself was really great but it was a long way up without a lift.

One of the main reasons we visited Spain at this time was to see the America's Cup in Valencia. In the world of sailing no race is bigger and as long as I have been sailing, I have wanted to see it. Unfortunately, the way it worked out, there were no races on the days we were there but visiting the port was still fantastic. I loved seeing the actual boats and various team camps.

These crazy looking buildings are the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia. Here we took the boys to Europe's largest aquarium and had a really nice time.

Both boys loved crawling through this tunnel and into the bubble to watch the fish swim by.

While the beaches in Valencia were not quite as nice as Barcelona, the boys sure didn't mind.
